This combination of projects performed on the same site constructed a new home for all the Commission’s field crews; servicing electric, water, sewer, gas, and fiber. The building’s envelope was value engineered by Harper & Sons; which saved the owner over 5% on the overall cost, reduced the building lead-time, and even increased the U-value of the building envelope! The challenging site preparation was self-performed by Harper & Sons, which involved re-routing a major electrical duct bank and stormwater utility, and working through underground transmission lines to bring water, sewer to the new building. The completed project will serve the Commission and its hardworking staff for many years to come.
The control room renovation involved a new base for the power generation controls for the Commission’s generators at multiple plants, and included renovations to adjacent office spaces, as well as a new ADA-compliant entrance.
