The Ridgely Town Hall was originally built as one of the first four structures in the Town, and served as a home, store, and hospital during its history, before becoming Town Hall.
The original building fabric was intact, but suffered from structural deterioration, failing windows, doors, siding, and lack of insulation.
Harper & Sons was tasked with needling and shoring exterior walls, replacing rotten framing and box sills, re-sheathing the building, and installing the new windows and doors. The trim work was replicated, and new siding was installed on the entire building. The project also included repointing brick steps, installing historically-correct window shutters, and renovating an interior bathroom.
The failing south porch was re-built with new millwork and balcony railings. The entry railings were also replaced. The project was completed in time for the Town’s sesquicentennial celebration and parade, and was a welcome upgrade to the Town’s facilities!
